Avenue Haul

Hey luuuxers!

I recently placed an order for the first time with the plus size retailer, Avenue and I wanted to share the haul with all of you.

The ironic thing is that I placed the order since they happened to carry a particular boot I was looking for. I had a pair of wedge knee high boots that were my absolute favourite that my dad mistakenly threw out. Do you know how hard it is to find cute shoes/boots for a size 12 foot?

I went on a hunt for weeks trying to find a replacement which proved near impossible! I finally found a pair similar to what I had, and that`s why I decided to place an order. I ended up ordering 2 pairs of boots, a dress, a pair of slacks and some undies (after reading online reviews for how comfy they were).

Here comes the irony though: everything arrived but the boots I originally wanted - they are back ordered, and won`t be re-stocked! Gaaaah!

Super frustrating for me, but I still have the rest of those items to share.

First comes the pair of boots that did arrive! I was mostly looking to replace my original boots since they were the pair I would wear to work most often. They had the wedge heel and didn`t look to messy but could still handle the intense Canadian winter...
I purchased these as another option to wear to work since they have the slight heel and a `dressier` feel to them than some of my other black boots. So even though I didn`t get the pair I really wanted, I do have this as an option for work.

Next up is the dress - I saw this featured on the home page and I loved the watercolour print.
I love the colours and the print reminds me of a more casual version of some gowns I have from Igigi. My friends said that it is totally a dress for me - and they are right! It`s right up my style alley :)

I also ended up ordering a pair of trousers to wear to work. Besides being plus size, I am also very tall, so finding clothes can be a bit of a challenge, especially pants! So when I noticed that Avenue carries `tall` length pants, I thought it would be worth a try. I like the pair I ordered so far, so this could be an option to continue exploring.

At this point I was only 20 something dollars away from free shipping (which was estimated at over 40 dollars) so I figured I will also grab something else.

I did notice some positive reviews for their undies online and that they fit well and we`re very comfy so I figured why not give `em a shot? They were also a good bet since they had one of those typical deals where you could get 5 for $25. I ended up choosing a few cotton basics in different cuts so I could try a few and see how well I like them.

So while I was disappointed that my first experience with this company wasn`t exactly as planned, the items I did end up receiving have made up for it!
