Pucker Up- Buxom Lip Gloss

I`ve been somewhat tired of lip-plumping products, but I admit that I was a bit excited about Buxom Lips Gloss when I saw it on QVC when I was watching the Bare Escentuals presentation. I`ve been using Bare Escentuals products for about few months so I was curious as to what type of lip plumper they would make.

The shade that came in my Bare Escentuals is Amber, which is described as a soft, shimmering peach. Looking at the gloss through the clear tube, it is indeed a soft peach, but it also has gold shimmer. I knew just by looking at it that this would be a really soft shade, and would probably translate to a nearly clear shade on my lips. When I apply the gloss, it has a soft, creamy peach look on my lips, with just a tiny bit of shimmer. You have to look really close to see the shimmer, as it`s barely there.

Buxom Lips Gloss is smooth and isn`t at all thick and gloppy. It has a nice, quality feel to it and feels both wet and cool on my lips. It applies easily and evenly to my lips with the slanted, sponge applicator. Once the gloss is on my lips, it starts to feel cool. It has a very slight tingle, but it`s nothing painful at all. It`s not a sting fort of type of tingle, but more of a menthol type of tingle.

I like the shiny finish that Bare Escentuals Buxom Lips gives my lips. It`s shiny and it`s shinier than an average liquid lip color type of product. I like the wet, shiny look quite a bit.

This gloss lasts an average amount of time on my lips, especially when compared to other plumping glosses. I`d say that they all last about the same amount of time, which is about an hour. Depending on if you are out in the elements or if you are eating and/or drinking, Buxom Lips will last about as long as any other gloss.

The initial plumping that Bare Escentuals Buxom Lips Gloss gives my lips is non-existent. I don`t feel that it plumps my lips at all, but they feel like they might be a bit bigger because of the slight tingle and the cooling effect. But they aren`t bigger at all. Over the course of several weeks, this gloss is supposed to make lips more plump. I have been using this gloss daily for several weeks now and I do think that it has made my lips a bit more plump. I used this gloss before Christmas and got the same effect. I know from that experience that if I stop using this gloss, the plumping effect will be gone within a day. You must use the gloss continuously in order to keep the plumping effects. This is the case with several other glosses as well.

The scent of Bare Escentauls Buxom Lips Gloss is hard to describe. The first time I sniffed it, I thought it was a toffee scent. Then I started to see on the internet that it`s a coffee scent. Then I saw it described somewhere as a "cinnamon frosting" scent. As I sit here and smell it now, I am sticking with my initial thought on this scent - that it`s a toffee scent. It`s not a super-strong scent, but it`s pleasant.
