Cartilage Piercings: Hot or Not?

I already have a piercing on my earlobes as do most people, but I feel really tempted to get a cartilage piercing. Apparently it is not safe to get them at claires or some mall booths because they use an ear-gun. Rather, it`s best to go to the professionals. I`m afraid to get an infection but possibly will go one day. I really like the look of some earrings and mostly large diamond-like studs.
