Zoya: Kalmia

When I was placing my order with Zoya during their BOGO promo I was really seeking out fall colors. I did buy several from their newest collection but there was still a hole that I didn`t feel those colors filled. I wanted an autumn leaves color. I wanted something that every time I looked at my hands I`d be reminded of crisp fallen leaves. THIS color does just that. This is Zoya Kalmia. Zoya describes this color as a metallic red-gold fusion enhanced by copper and gold shimmer. This was originally part of the Truth collection. I really don`t know why I didn`t buy this one sooner. I guess currently the autumn bug has bit me and I`m just seeking out any and all cool-weather kind of colors (in makeup, nails, and clothing). As with most Zoyas, this polish was very easy to work with. It applied smooth and leveled itself out. There was no glooping or running as I brushed it on. Opacity was awesome, too. I am wearing two coats in these pictures. Even at the first coat, though, it was pretty good. Because of the finish, you can SORT OF see brush strokes but not nearly as bad as you might expect. It certainly isn`t like pearl finish or frost finish polishes. Truthfully, I only see that if I`m really looking close and trying to find them. I know a lot of people worry about that with polishes, but I would say don`t let that stop you from getting this one if you like the color.
