On a recent trip to downtown I stopped in to rediscover yann`s macarons. I did a post a couple months back saying I`d occasionally do food reviews of local restaurants/bakeries in my city... I havent really been into finding a lot of new places as of late.. maybe its because its the middle of winter and I`ve literally had a crazy work schedule... and my bf doesnt live in the same city as me.. I think discovering new places with him would be cool.. since hes the real foodie here.. I just like macarons.. LOL.
Okay so onto the review... Once upon a time I googled macaron places in calgary, one particular bakery was the only one in my search engine.. after going onto the maps app on my phone and trying to figure out where it was.. It took me about a week and I decided to finally try to hunt it down.. its pretty easy to find... its located on the west side of downtown.. near elbow park/ the old holy cross hospital. I love that part of town it has a starbucks on one corner, pretty houses and it makes for a nice walk along the river if you go up a few blocks..and my fave park is also located near by.
Upon looking at all their flavors I finally picked a bunch up.. I believe these are around $2 each.. I see them as an indulgence.. Obviously you dont see me buying a dozen every day or anything like that but they make for a nice treat once in a while. These are my fave macarons in the city! However my most recent trip didnt wow me.. maybe I went too late in the day but they were sold out of most flavors.. and did these get smaller? I dont remember them being this small in the past.. hmm.. it has been since oct that ive had them.. but anyways I give them a 4/5 I love traveling to that part of the city for these taking a walk and getting some starbucks to go with them!
my fave flavors are:
London fog, rose lychee, apricot lavender & Jasmine.
