I was in Oakland, CA the other day getting an oil change for my car. Little did I know that it was going to take 2 hours to finish! So I called my Uncle to go eat lunch. We went to Piedmont in Oakland, CA to eat. We came across this Vietnamese Cuisine called Xyclo. They had lunch specials so we decided to try that place for the first time. It was a small but very elegant restaurant, not the typical Vietnamese restaurants. It was ran and owned by Vietnamese people as well. The service was good, the lights were a bit too dim for me, but over all it was a good experience.
My uncle order this sautay chicken and green beans with rice. The sauce was AMAZING, but my uncle found it to be a bit too spicy for him. I ordered a chicken vermicelli because I haven`t had vermicelli in a long time. Now I`m going to admit the place was a bit too expensive for me (usually vietnamese places are around $6-7) and this place was about $9-12 a place. It was good though. I don`t think the vermicelli was worth getting, but my uncles dish was definitely worth it! Eve though it was more expensive then usual, I would go back again.
If any of you live around Oakland, CA you should defiantly try it. It`s a nice place to take a date =)
