So a couple of days ago I give many of you a tour and recomendations on must see mountains of North Carolina. Today I`m going to the other end of the state to bring you guys a tour of must visit beaches of North Carolina.
So to start off I bring you guys to the most visited beach of North Carolina, Wrightsville Beach. Located in New Hanover County just eat of Wilmington, Wrightsville Beach is the a 4 mile long Outer banks island and is the largest tourist beach in North Carolina with some 2 million visitors annually. The beach is free of charge to visit year round. But the beach isn`t the only thing around. There are also several miles of hiking and biking trails. Many picnic areas are spread out through out the island, and there`s also access to snorkeling and kayaking, and several hundred lounge chairs around the beach that anyone can use just to enjoy the beach itself. You can also go visit the Cape Fear Museum which is packed full of historical items from around the area. The museum is free of charge and is also open year round. There`s also several resort Hotels located along the beach along with many rental properties if you don`t feel like sharing a hotel with several dozen other families at the same time. For you Surfers out there Wrightsville Beach has some of the best surfing in North Carolina with an average of 5-6ft swells. There are 4 places to surf; The Surf Suites, Shell Island Resort, Blockade Runner and Holiday Inn Sunspree. For you fishermen there`s the Johnny Mercer`s Pier that extends out into the Atlantic offering some of the best off shore fishing in the state. So no matter what you`re looking for in a beach vacation, Wrightsville Beach has it. It`s very family friendly as well as friendly to the individual looking to get away for a while. I highly recommend this beach for anyone and everyone so come have a visit.
