Women Don`t Have To Wear Bikinis In The Olympics

Since beach volleyball was introduced into the summer Olympics in 1996, we have seen women wear bikinis the majority of the time when playing beach volleyball. A new rule was announced on Tuesday saying that participants can choose to wear shorts and sleeved tops if they wish and bodysuits in colder weather events. This change was to "reflect cultural conventions of various participating countries." as some countries are more modest and may have good female beach volleyball players, however their culture may not permit or frown upon women wearing such scantily clad "uniforms" to play sports in. I think this is a great change. Personally I`d let players wear whatever they want while competing. Why should it matter? It`s not like wearing shorts or bikini bottoms is going to make you a better player lol

What do you think of this rule change?
Have you played beach volleyball before?
Did you wear a bikini while doing it? :p
