After hearing tons about this place called `The Witches Brew` , me and a few friends decided to finally try it out.
The Witches Brew is a small coffeehouse/dessert place in Hempstead. The decorations are really cute and halloween themed, the place is dimly lit for a better spooky feel. The seating is more laid back, there are different sections of couches with tables, its very hang-out like..
They have such a huge assortment of teas, coffee drinks, and desserts that i was overwhelmed and didn`t know what to get at first! I finally chose :
The brownie cheesecake was cheesecake with original graham cracker crust, brownie on the bottom, fudge on top, sprinkled powdered sugar, and whipped cream to finish it off. It was definitely an indulgent treat! It was a bit heavy, (like you can expect any cheesecake+ brownie dessert combo would be) but it was super delicious. It was a pretty small piece ,too, thankfully , because it is pretty sweet and you don`t want to eat too much of this huge of an indulgence lol.
The coffee float was supposed to be hot coffee with a scoop of ice cream and whipped cream. I know - how does that work? Well unfortunately, I guess it doesn`t really work, because by the time mine came out it was more like room temperature coffee-ice cream soup. So it wasn`t as enjoyable as the cake... Maybe next time I will try a regular iced coffee or hot coffee drink. No mix lol.
Overall though, I did enjoy the place. The food is good, (I also tried a bit of my friends` desserts), the drinks are pretty cool (just don`t expect a hot coffee + ice cream float to successfully work here more than it would anywhere else), and the ambiance of the place is pretty cool and makes for a good hangout spot. I do want to go back sometime soon!
So have you ever heard of Witches Brew in NY? Do you have a coffeehouse like this one near you?? Ever had an coffee float?
