I was browsing through the sweet isle at Morrison`s when I came across flying saucers. I remember eating these sweets as a child. They have a edible paper-like outer part and are filled with a sherbet, fizzy powder. The paper part dissolves in your mouth and tastes like nothing much. I use to think that I was actually eating paper when I was younger (like the paper cash sweets).
The sherbet powder filling is common in many cheaper sweets that can be found in local corner shops. I think that the flying saucers and sherbet fingers were 2p in the early 90`s lol. How times have changed!
Have you tried these flying saucers before? What was your favourite childhood sweet? Let me know below.
