This is what I made for dinner a few nights ago. It is a white chicken chili. I had never made it before but had seen a friend on my personal facebook page metion making white TURKEY chili several different times. I decided to look up a recipe. Well, I found more chicken versions than turkey and decided to try my hand at that. I read through reviews and took a mix of advice from several people. I changed up the recipe a bit, mainly making it less spicy.
The outcome was good in flavor, but very spicy. I even tamed down the heat last minute while cooking/tasting. I used a small fraction of the jalapenos the recipe called for and even tossed in a whole small container of sour cream to smooth over the flavor. While that did work, it was still quite spicy and my son refused to eat it.
IF I decide to make this again, I`ll cool it down even more and cook the base flavors (mainly onion) down longer because they still had a bit of crunch to them and no one in my family likes crunchy onions (myself included). So, that made the texture less than enjoyable for us.
