I recently purchased the new Wet N Wild Megalast Liquid Lip Colors. I heard so many reviews on these both good and bad but since they were having a bogo and the glosses had $1.00 off I figured I would still come out not hurting my bank account.
I purchased the following colors:
1) I CAN BARE IT-Nude Color slight shimmer in the bottle but when applied to the lips you don`t notice it at all. I first applied one coate and let it dry because my lips are pigmented the color was not noticeable at all, so I removed it and then applied it again this time applying 2 coates once dried the color showed and it was very nice and matte very work friendly.
2)HIGH PITCHED WINE-Brown/red/wine color no shimmer fully matte. One Coates gives it a nice wine color I would wear more in the Fall/Winter it was just a little to dark to try and do in Spring. Two Coates gave my lips a very deep vampy look something that I could never pull off, however the color does make your teeth look whiter so that is a plus.
3) ROSE TO THE OCCASSION- Fuschia Pinky Red slight shimmer slightly noticeable on the lips. This is a blue based color very springy it`s light in texture one coate was not enough for my lips so I applied a second and it was not over powering it was the right about of color.
4) POCKET FULL OF ROSES-Raspberry Pink Color. Once color was great on my lips tried two coates but felt the color was a bit strong for my complexion.
When I applied one coate on my lips the level of dryness was hardly noticeable, two coates my lips felt heavy and very dry I was fearfull if I smiled they would crack. Overall the colors were very nice I was happy with each of them but you have to know how to use them to get the best quality out of the product.
The products work best on freshly scrubbed lips so there will be no flaking. You have to work fast with these products as well, once you apply press your lips together within the first 3 seconds after that the gloss is set. It`s very important you don`t rub your lips together rubbing will smear the product and once it dries you have a lot of streaks and dry patches. I tried to apply a gloss on my lips to give it a better finish and found the right gloss formula is key. I applied a Mac lip glass on top and the two textures were not compatible, next I tried a le`gloss from L`oreal and that worked wonderful so something smooth like vaseline works.
Once I got these working the way I wanted I was very happy with the results, the colors were nicely pigmented, and they lasted a very long time. I applied it at 7:00 am before work, dropped my son at school kissed him goodbye and left nothing on his face, ate breakfast, drank coffee, water, and had lunch by 3:00 the color started to feather just a tad but nothing so noticeable that it started to look bad, I just applied a little gloss to keep it moisturized. To remove you will need more than a makeup wipe, I used coconut oil rub it in and then use the wipe.
Would I purchase more of these? I don`t think so and not because I don`t like them it`s just the colors are not all wearable for my complexion no matter how I worked them.
Are they worth the money? At Walgreens they are $2.99 I was ok with that price point, but if you want more bang for your buck use the coupon and wait for the bogo`s.
