I`m excited to share this haul with you all, especially any fellow Canadians since we always seem to get the short end of the stick when it comes to make-up releases.
Once such example is the Wet n Wild limited edition products that come out. I hear about certain limited edition products and sets that come out from Wet n Wild, but we never seem to get them in Canada.
Well, I was out grocery shopping at my local Loblaws superstore when I decided to take a little detour to their make-up and beauty section. This area is in the far end of the store, and while I have always known it was there I had never really bothered to delve into it
But am I glad I have discovered it now! They have a huge selection of brands that I never would have expected at a grocery store. They even have a Milani section (though it is pretty tiny) which is notoriously difficult to find in Canada!
But what I noticed on this occasion is that they had a display with limited edition Wet n Wild! The display was for their holiday release and featured eyeshadow trios and some liquid glitter liners. I don`t know how long it`s been there, since we are well past the holidays, but they still had quite a few options! There was also a second display of a variety of false lashes, which I have never seen from WnW before! I ended up going for 2 of the trios: Bohemnian Wrapsody and Bust a Wrap.
These both include lots of glitter and shimmer, which fits in with the holiday theme. But I have to say, I was a little disappointed since the colour I was most excited about, the deep blue in the Bust a Wrap trio, turned out to be a bit of a dud. It looks great in the pan, but as soon as you swatch it, it becomes a charcoal grey with none of the blue glitter showing up on your eyes. So while the shadow quality so far is comparable to the typical WnW trios that are so popular, this one is not really true to colour.
But speaking of great quality drugstore shadows, I did notice that they had quite a few `Clearance` stickers up in the L`Oreal section. They had a few of the L`oreal Infallible shadows being cleared out for just $2.44! These normally retail for at least 7 or 8 bucks, if not more! So I knew if would be a great opportunity to pick some up. These shadows are almost like a cross between a cream shadow and a pigment and they are so buttery smooth, and great to work with since they blend like a dream!
Not all the colours were being cleared out, but I did manage to get Goldmine and Metallic Lilac which will be great shadows to amp up a look! I may have to go back and see if they decide to clear any more of those shadows in the coming weeks!
Plus, once the latest WnW releases come out, I want to see if Loblaws will get them!
Have you guys ever uncovered a new and unexpected place to buy make-up ?
