West Lake, China [Places To See Before You Die]

West Lake or (X HĂș) is a beautiful water lake located in Hangzhou (capital of Zhejiang province) in China. The lake is surrounded by 3 mountains and there are numerous temples, gardens and artificial islands within the lake. It was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011.

West Lake, with its natural beauty and historical relics, has inspired poets and painters for years, and it has been among the most important sources of inspiration for Chinese garden designers, as evidenced by the impact it had on various Chinese classical gardens.

The scenery around West Lake is changes every season. In spring, the grasses are tall and nightingales fly in the air. The graceful lotuses in summer, smooth lake in autumn and plum blossom in winter are all unique elements which give people who visit the lake a real sense of the beauty of the area.
