Wawel Hill, in Krakow, Poland, encompasses the Wawel Royal Castle, and the Wawel Cathedral and crypts. The area is a must- see for all tourists, as it harbours a wealth of Polish history and culture. The monarchs of Poland were crowned and buried, as well as resided in the Royal Castle from the 11th century onward. A legendary cave, known as the Dragon`s Den, is located in the western slope of Wawel Hill, and plays a significant role in the mythic beginnings of Krakow.
