So boyfriend told me of a plan to go tubing with his friend and his girlfriend. I haven`t been to the beach/lake/in a pool in years.. I don`t mind going, I just don`t want to get my face wet :/ As a fellow acne victim which is still an ongoing war, it`s kind of hard to ditch the makeup.. As much as he tells me I shouldn`t care.. it`s definitely not easy. With even slightly clearer skin, I could care less about wearing anything.
But end of short story. I really do wanna go, so I made a stop at Target to see if I could find anything waterproof I could use. I did a little bit of research before I went, but for the most part I just went to see what I could find. The only things I would care for wearing are foundation, concealer, and eyeliner.
I don`t even know if they make waterproof foundation, and if it really is too much, I could use concealer all over instead.
-Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation in Soft Beige
-I tried this one a little after taking my makeup off. For the 30 seconds it was on, it seemed to apply pretty well, better than the Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation I tried a little while ago. That one gave me an oxidized orangey-tint.. and I know my face is red.. but it isn`t red all over! Lol.. but I think I`m going to like this one :)
-Revlon ColorStay Foundation for Combo/Oily Skin in Golden Beige and Warm Golden
-I`ve used Revlon ColorStay a lot in the past but I`ve taken a break from them and started using asian BB creams maybe a year or two ago. But I think I`ll go back to these. I haven`t tried them yet and I think the packaging of these has changed since the last time I`ve tried them, but I`m sure I`ll still like them nonetheless
-Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black
-I`ve never tried a drugstore gel eyeliner. My holy grail is Bobbi Brown`s gel liner, so I wasn`t expecting much of anything from this. And I`m not sure whether it`s from my makeup wipe, but I couldn`t get a smooth line from this liner. I`ll try it again for real another day, but not sure about this one. Didn`t seem to hold up against the water very well either, but I might not have let it dry long enough
-Maybelline Ultra Liner Waterproof in Black
-Ok now this one is a huge fail for me. I think the only reason this is waterproof is that once it dries.. as long as you don`t touch it.. it`ll stay. But if you rub it (and I`m not saying go around rubbing all your makeup to test that..) it flakes like crazy.. I really don`t like that aspect in makeup. It`s as if I could swipe a thick enough line and just peel it off.. uhhh no.. Though I`ve never gotten the hang of liquid eyeliner, and this liner does make it easy for me to apply
-Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer in Noir
-Definitely my favorite waterproof eyeliner. I have the same liner in Sapphire, which is the color I got the last time I looked for a waterproof liner to wear in the water :P It`s easy to apply, glides on very smoothly. Now you will get a little smudging after being in the water. But it really does hold up fairly well comparatively. I feel like every liner smudges even the slightest bit for me, so out of the ones I`ve found, this is the best one thus far
So I couldn`t find any waterproof concealers, but I do have the Tarte Waterproof stick concealers.. which I don`t really think are very waterproof or smudge-proof, but that`s all I have right now. If anyone has any suggestions, I`m open to anything that won`t break the bank :D
Then I got a Base/Top Coat from OPI. I love Seche Vite with a good polish thinner but always open to more top coats. Then got a mint nail polish for a friend.. and I had to detour into the back-to-school section and saw some really cute journals/notebooks. Got myself a Mickey notebook and a small London journal. So cute! :) Okie that`s it.. thanks for reading if you got this far lol!
