Last year I competed in my first half-marathon! I was pretty out of shape when I started training for it, but then I found this training plan from http://www.halhigdon.com/! Hal Higdon is a running expert who has written articles for magazines like Runner`s World, so I knew that any training plan he came up with would be great! Since I was so out of shape, I chose the http://www.halhigdon.com/training/51131/Half-Marathon-Novice-1-Training-Program training program. At the time I hadn`t run any farther than 5 miles, but this definitely helped me! It takes 12 weeks to complete the program and it mixes weight training, running and cross training. I really liked it and it definitely prepared me for my half-marathon! I`ve used it twice so far and both of my times for the races turned out to be pretty decent.
