A few weeks ago for Christmas, my amazing boyfriend bought me a record player (check it out at http://www.luuux.com/viz/world-map-vintage-record-player!). Since then, I`ve bought a number of records from some really cool record stores, as well as order some from small indie record labels. My most recent purchase? These two albums!
Some of my favorite artists are on small indie labels, so their merchandise is sometimes really hard to find. Luckily, I was able to find two of my favorite artists on http://StoreEnvy.com, where their record label Lauren Records hosts their merch site. I bought an album by an amazing band called Walter Mitty and His Makeshift Orchestra and an album by artist Andrew Jackson Jihad.
The records themselves are so cool! One is a seaglass green and the other is green and black swirls. Much different than the traditional black-colored records! My only complaint is the packaging. Unlike older vinyl records which came in thick cardboard sleeves, newer records tend to come in much thinner cardstock or paper sleeves, which makes them less protected and more likely to get damaged. So I do my best to keep them stored safely :)
Do you listen to records? Digital music is so easily accessible these days, but there`s something alluring about putting on a record and playing it physically!
