This is the first time I had rice cake done this way.
A friend brought me to Cong Ly Restaurant in Chinatown, NYC. This is a very small Vietnamese restaurant. You can not bring big groups there, space is tight. Since it was the two of us, my friend decided to bring me to this place for a cheap lunch. We both had our usual Vermicelli noodle soup and she ordered the steam rice cake for me to try. This is the only place that I know makes the rice cake this way. I haven`t seen it in any other Vietnamese restaurants. The flavor was light and toward the blend side, but it was still very good.
This is a very good side dish or appetizer dish.
1) Have you tried rice cakes before?
