Vietnamese Lunch at Quan Hy

While I was home in Orange County, I got the chance to eat out at a Vietnamese Restaurant for some good delicious VN cookin which is rare in LA, where I usually am. My friends and I went to this restaurant called Quan Hy. It was my first time there. The atmosphere and the decor of the place is definitely different than the usual restaurant you can find in GG. This place is much more clean, better decorated, and a little bit more fancy.

Everything that we ordered was good. It wasn`t exceptionally good or anything like that but it was okay. We ordered:

Mi Quang (Vietnamese Tumeric Noodles from Quang Nam): This dish is a widely known dish from the central part of VN. It comes with thick yellow tumeric noodles, sesame rice crackers, roasted peanuts, fresh herbs, and flavorful but light broth. The dish actually has very little broth and is almost eaten as a dry dish. I love the shrimp-y flavors of this dish. It`s definitely one of my favs.

Bun Thit Nuong (Vietnamese Grilled Pork with Vermicelli): It really is in the name. This dish is mainly about the pork and how delicious it is. Mixed with fresh herbs, cucumbers, pickled carrots and radishes, and a dash of fish sauce, this is a really yummy classic Vietnamese dish.

Ban Beo Chen (Steamed rice cakes with shrimp and pork rinds): One of my favorite Vietnamese dish when I was younger. This is such a light yet flavorful dish esp eaten with mixed dipping fish sauce.
