For lunch, my mom prepared this soup called Canh Khoai Mo or in other words called Vietnamese Creamy Yam Soup or Fatty Yam Soup. Yams have a lot of benefits: nutritional and health wise. But this is the first time I`ve seen my mom prepare purple soup because she used purple yams. My mom prepares the purple yams instead of the white.
What does the soup taste like?
I can hardly taste the yam, I taste the broth of the shrimp and the minced shrimp and onions. It`s really good, I think it`d be good on a cold day. The soup isn`t something you slurp and liquidity, it`s grainy and sort of like porridge.
What are the ingredients in this soup?
Salt & Pepper
Have you ever tried this sort of soup before? If so, what did you think of it? If not, is this a soup you would like to try?

This is also a Khmer soup too:
