I picked up a bag of Coconut Candy (Keo Dua) at my local Asian market for $2.19. The bag comes with quite a number of candies in it, so you certainly get your monies worth. I picked these up because I remember years back, when I had a summer job, the Vietnamese ladies I worked with would share this with me, along with a number of other Vietnamese and Chinese hard candies. Coconut candy doesnt look like you would assume it would just by the name. The candy is brown, similar to a caramel candy and not the white one would typically imagine with coconut. The candy itself taste like coconut, but as you let it melt in your mouth it has a very caramel texture to it. Its very sticky and will stick to your teeth if you chew it. Typically I eat one of these a day and it gives me that sweetness I am looking for. Theyre really good and not sickenly sweet as some candies can get.
Have you ever tried Vietnamese coconut candy?
