Today for lunch & dinner, my mom prepared and made Mien Ga, in other words Vietnamese Chicken Glass Noodle Soup. This dish is a lot similar to pho and I believe my mom followed all the steps of making pho but instead of using pho noodles we ate the soup with glass noodles (cellophane noodles) and you don`t eat this dish with any condiments well you could but you usually don`t, just maybe some lemon or lime. For my toppings, I just had chopped up cilantro and green onions plus chicken. It would be totally yummy if I had some meatballs too. The texture of the noodles is very glass like clear and tastes really good. The broth base is from a whole chicken and all natural no MSG! If I had to chose between this soup and pho, I prefer this one. It is perfect to eat on a cold day like today.
Have you ever tried glass noodles? Do you like eating glass noodles or some other kind of noodles?
