I was looking through my Seventeen magazine, and I found a recipe they had for a veggie wrap. I looked at the ingredients, and it seemed simple enough to make. Plus, I definitely wanted to incorporate healthier options into what I eat every day, so I went out to buy what I needed, followed the directions, and voila!
I don`t cook, so this was the first thing I made by myself, and I`m pretty proud of that! Obviously, I didn`t really "cook" anything here, but you know what I mean! I`ve never made food or prepared them in any way before, so I was happy that for the first time, I went out, bought the ingredients, and put it together myself.
What you do is spread hummus on the whole wheat wrap, and then add shredded low fat mozzarella cheese, fresh spinach, a few slices of avocado, and couple slices of tomato. You wrap it up, heat it in the oven for 20 seconds, cut it in half, and you`re ready to enjoy!
I honestly didn`t think I`d like it that much because I don`t like wheat (I`ve always preferred white bread), I`ve never had a taste for spinach, and avocados? Yuck. But when they are combined, heated, and eaten all together, I was pleasantly surprised because it was delicious. Not only that, but it`s satisfyingly filling too!
By the way, I`m not vegetarian, but I love how easy this was to make, and how HEALTHY it is too, so I`m definitely going to be whipping up some more in the future!
Have you ever tried this, or something like it? Would you?
