For my afternoon snack, I decided to steam up some edamame which is basically soybeans in a pod. I usually get edamame when I head out for sushi as a side snack and they`re so addicting to eat. Usually restaurants season these with salt or garlic but to save myself from that, I decided it would be better to steam some at home and eat them as is. I prefer steaming them since it won`t touch the water unlike boiling. I just don`t like them boiled since they tend to get soggy. They`re pretty cheap too since they`re around $2 for a big bag from many of the asian grocers I`ve been to.
Later at night, I had these artichokes. I ate them steamed as well. My favorite part is the heart since it has the most "meat". I hear that it`s good to drink the water from which you boil the vegetable in but I have yet to try that so I don`t know what benefits are from the artichoke juice. Sometimes I also like to dip the artichoke with mayonnaise, which sounds weird but it`s actually really good, makes it have a nice savory taste.
