I just wanted to do a quick review for you guys on the Naked Basics 2 Palette from Urban Decay.
I am a huge Urban Decay Junkie - they were the first make up brand I ever purchased for myself and I have been obsessed ever since!
I have both the regular Naked and Naked 2 palettes, and they are part of my regular make-up rotation. But for day to day, I prefer eyeshadows that are either a matte or satin finish.
When the first Naked Basics palette came out, I was really excited, except the colours were repeats for the most part (I think 2 or 3 of the shades, I already owned). This was a little disappointing so I ended up not purchasing it, though I have been in the market for a matte, everyday palette. So when Naked Basics 2 was released with all new shades, I knew I had a winner!
This palette isn`t a recent release, or even a recent purchase for me, but I do like the cool toned mattes included in this palette. It`s great for daytime looks, but you can easily add a darker or shimmery shade to vamp it up for the evening.
I also love the shade range included in this palette. I love using different shades of taupe and this palette has some great options. For a idiot-proof look, you can pretty much choose any of the first 3 shades as a lid colour and any of the last three shades as a crease colour, depending on home much contrast you want in your look. I generally stick with the lighter shades for daytime, but this palette is so slim and compact, I can take it with me and easily layer on one of the darker shades later for a night time look. Undone is probably my favourite shadow in this set since it is so versatile - you can sheer it out for a lid colour, layer it in the crease for a darker look, or even use it as a liner.
It is also moderately priced - you get 6 different shadows at under 6 bucks a pop ( or under 5 bucks in the US).
So if you haven`t check out this palette, and you are into Cool, Matte shadows, this is a great option.
