*I know my camera sucks but I can`t find the other one we have so I have to stick to this one for right now :D
So while in San Francisco, we also went to LA as well. While in LA, I strolled into Sephora hoping to find more of those baked shadow palettes from Sephora that are on sale (check it out here: http://www.luuux.com/health-beauty/sephoras-hot-hues-baked-eyeshadow-palette-burnished-cocoa?blog_id=18019) but instead I got hypnotized into Urban Decay instead. So ever since the Naked and Naked 2 palettes were released from Urban Decay, I`ve never gotten the courage to purchase it simply because it seemed to pricey for when I was able to scrumage around for dupes here and there. But when I saw it in LA, I dunno what went over me and compelled me to purchase it!
So why the hesitation to purchase before? In Canada, Sephora sells the Naked palettes at $60 CDN, not including tax, but in the States, even though the CDN and USD are almost at par, Sephora sells it for $50 USD...thats a $10 difference in my opinion and even with tax in LA, it still came out to be less than the CDN price.
So I`m sure everyone`s heard other reviews about the Naked 2 palette and etc but here is my take on it!
I was originally debating whether or not to get the first Naked palette or the second Naked palette, it took me like 30 minutes to make the decision. So here were my thoughts about each palette and why I didn`t choose the other Naked palette.
The Naked Palette:
As much of a brown eyeshadow lover as I was, the first Naked palette had too much browns in my opinion and the colors were really dark at first glance. The palette is definitely a warm based brown palette, which I didn`t need anymore of because I had a bazillion brown and light brown warm shades.
The Naked 2 Palette:
When you compare both palettes side by side, I got the impression that the Naked 2 palette, the colors are cooler and they are a bit lighter because of the emphasis on taupes instead. I didn`t have much taupe shadows anyway, therefore I decided to pick it up! But what I didn`t quite like about it was the fact that it came with a lipgloss...which I gave to my aunt because I`m not a big lipgloss fan!
So I`ve taken a picture of the swatchs in the the order the colors appear in the palette, it is a mixture of matte, satins and shimmers in the palette and I think this gives variety when you are using this palette to create any look! I did find some difficulties in swatching Foxy and Bootycall but maybe because they are lighter shades, but I`ve heard that some people have had difficulties swatching Tease and Blackout but I didn`t have any issues with them!
I would have to say that I love Suspect, Pistol, Verve and YDK. Only with those 4 colors I could create many looks! But the other colors in the palette are all amazing as well!
On to the brush...so it just kinda sits there in the palette, I don`t know what to do with it. I tried using it but it just doesn`t do what my Quo and E.L.F brushes do for me...weird I know?
For the packaging, its super sturdy and definitely something worth bringing when travelling because you don`t have to be worried about it being crushed. There is also a big mirror for you to use as well so you can see your eyes while you are doing your makeup!
This is my second palette from Urban Decay and I can definitely say I love their shadows, the next thing on my to get list from them would potentially be their Build Your Own Palette because I would like to explore some other shades from them eyeshadow wise!
What do you think about the Naked palettes? Are you a fan or did you pass on it?
*Pictures are mines!
