Ive been lucky enough to receive these three Urban Decay eyeliners from multiple sample bags and gift sets. After using all three of these eyeliners, I can give a clear review of them for someone who maybe interested in getting a black eyeliner from Urban Decay but just arent sure which one to get.
Zero is the original black one that Urban Decay came out with, followed by the perversion which they claim to be the blackest of all blacks, then most recently they had the black velvet one from their velvet line. To be honest, I feel that all three of these are pretty similar in color. They also cost the same. The only difference that I noticed is that the black velvet goes on just a little bit smoother. Not too big of a difference but definitely noticeable. I also had trouble with the perversion one, Im not sure if it was just the one that I got or if its because of the formula but the perversion one was very difficult to sharpen as it would just get stuck in the sharpener (thats why its shorter than the others and the line is thicker) and eventually the liner part just fell out of the pencil. The perversion one also gave me trouble with my contacts too as it easily transferred from my water and lash line onto my contact lens. My guess is that the perversion is creamier or the formula is just thicker.
If I had to choose one of these to buy, I would choose the black velvet. I havent had any trouble with it so far. It is a little bit darker than zero, glides on smoothly, and stays on for a long period of time. Another great thing about the black velvet is that you can blend it out for a smoky eye look because the formula of the black velvet liner contains more powder which will give you that eyeshadow feel on your eyes.
Have you tried Urban Decay eyeliners?
