I went on a small shopping trip yesterday, and here`s what I got. This is part 1, by the way. I`ll be doing my mini Forever 21 haul after this. :)
-Maybelline Define-A-Line eyeliner in 801 Ebony Black
-Maybelline Illegal Length mascara in Blackest Black
-Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in 70 Hot Tamale
-LUSH Brazened Honey Fresh Face Mask
After getting the latest Ulta catalog in the mail, I knew I had to visit my local store soon. They`re currently having a Buy 2, Get 1 Free offer on Maybelline and Revlon products. Sadly, you can`t combine brands. But anyway, I`ve been wanting to buy a Revlon lip butter for the longest time, as well as a new mascara.
When I went to look for the lip butters, I was sorely disappointed in the selection. They were sold out of about half the colors. I was specifically looking for Candy Apple, because I wanted to venture out of my comfort zone a bit (Candy Apple is a subtle red). I was about to cave in and buy either Strawberry Shortcake and/or Tutti Frutti, but decided against it. Maybe some other time, I guess.
Illegal Length gave my lashes good length, but not as much as I expected. It didn`t hold the curl very well either, and I even used heat to curl them! Not the best first impression. I`ll toy around with it some more and maybe get back to you guys with a more complete review with pictures.
Dream Bouncy Blush has the coolest texture. If I had money to throw around, I would probably just have one to mess with and press all day. Anyway, I applied this to my non-foundationed cheeks, which have quite a bit of redness (and I`m not talking natural flush) because of my acne. So the blush didn`t exactly look great, but of course I didn`t expect it to. The color is great though; don`t be intimidated by the brightness. Hot Tamale is a watermelon pink that can actually look natural once blended out.
I haven`t tried the eyeliner yet, but I`ll mostly be using it for tightlining. I`ll definitely be using it with Illegal Length, since my lashes lack volume and the liner would help make them seem thicker.
I`m currently breaking out quite badly on my left cheek, so I chose Brazened Honey as my first-ever Fresh Face Mask. LUSH describes it as "our most powerful mask; not for those with sensitive skin!". It was also categorized under `Deep Clean Oily or Blemish Prone Skin`. The smell is natural and nice, definitely Lush-esque. When I first applied it, I felt a burning sensation on my left cheek for about a minute or two, which worried me. But it went away. I left it on my face for 7 minutes, and my face was left clean and nice. As for the effectiveness, my pimples have swelled down significantly. It may or may not be repurchase-worthy; it was my first time using a face mask in a long time, so I can`t really compare it to anything else.
