In my Love VoxBox from http://www.influenster.com/, I received a sample box of http://www.truvia.com/. You can purchase Truvia at most mass retailers in a 40-count, 80-count, 120-count box, or a spoonable jar I have heard of Truvia when it was first seen in stores but I never got a chance to try it because it was always more convenient to use sugar or other types of artificial sweeteners that you would commonly see, such as Splenda. However, I have always been curious about how Truvia actually tasted and how it might differ from sugar or Splenda. You can actually use Truvia in place of sugar for many things, such as while you are cooking, in your tea or coffee, or if you want to dip your fruits in it. I like my tea and fruits to taste exactly the way it is already, so the only time I use sweeteners is when I drink coffee (which has been more often lately because of schoool!) because I`m not a fan of drinking straight black coffee. In comparison to sugar or Splenda, I find that Truvia is much more grainy in size than the two mentioned. This doesn`t affect how it dissolves though. There is something about the Truvia sweetener that I find really interesting. It has this slight bitter, vanilla taste - which might be off-putting to some but I really like it! I also notice that when I use sugar to sweeten my coffee, I use at least 4 spoonfuls before I can get my sugar to taste sweet the way I like it. As with Splenda, I also use around 3-4 bags. I`ve always disliked using so much... With Truvia, I find that it`s enough just to use one bag because it`s already quite sweet - which is also really weird because Truvia is zero-calorie! Overall, I do like Truvia. Would I purchase it in the future? Perhaps, if I find a really good deal. I think for what it is, it is a bit overpriced. It has a really unique taste though, like I mentioned earlier, it has this slight bitter vanilla taste that is unlike any other sugar or artificial sweeteners that I have previously tried.
DISCLAIMER: I was sent a sample box of the Truvia Natural Sweetener by Influenster as a part of the `Love` VoxBox but in no way does that compromise the honesty and integrity of my thoughts and opinions. I was not paid for this review.
