Rome is on my list of places to visit. And one of the places that one has to visit while in Rome is Trevi Fountain.
It is one of the most famous fountains in the world. It is 26 m high and 20 m wide. Sculptures in this fountain represent two stories on how did Rome get water from this place during some 400 years. I`ll have to hear more about that during the visit.
Another interesting thing about Trevi Fountain is throwing of coins. People throw coins and make a whish :) I`ll have to try that too!
Fountain is being cleaned and emptied every 2 weeks. It is strictly forbiden to take coins from the fountain. Workers that are cleaning coins are under supervison of the police, and the money goest to the city of Rome and to the humanitarian causes. We are talking about 700.000 euros per year!
Soon I`ll throw few coins in Trevi Fountain and make a wish or two :)
Have you been there? Do you throw coins and make whishes?
