Torrid Haul - Cross border shopping in Buffalo

Hey luuuxers,

My friend and I decided to head to Buffalo last week to do some cross border shopping, and I`m sharing the hauls from those trips now!

I actually planned ahead this time around, and did some online shopping on Black Friday. But in order to save on shipping and customs fees, I decided to have the order sent to the store in Buffalo. We don`t have Torrid locations in Toronto that I could ship to, but since I knew that my friend and I were planning a shopping trip, I decided to take advantage of the opportunity.

There were a few items I was looking for specifically - winter boots (that I buy from Torrid every year) and some blazers.

So those were mostly what I ordered, knowing I could return them if need be. I ended up ordering 4 pairs of boots, 1 pair of heels and 3 blazers. I will talk about the shoes in my next post, so first let`s talk clothing.

I was looking to expand my collection of blazers, and I love the detailing on Torrid blazers - I already own two. I ended up choosing a grey one with ruched sleeves, a white cropped one and a black one with faux leather trimming.

Even though I ordered all of them in the same size, the grey one was too big on me, especially in the waist. The blazers are cut to emphasize the waist, but this blazer was too loose so I ended up returning it. I really loved the cut of the white blazer, and I almost kept it, but it reminded me too much of my mom`s dental clinic coats that she wears. It was also a super stark white which was going to be prone to stains so I decided to also get my money back on that one too. The black blazer was just perfect! The detailing looked awesome and it fit like a glove. I was super excited to take it home with me.

I had also ended up ordering a pair of jeans in tall length to the store. I was looking to get another pair similar to my all time favourite jeans - the Roxanne from Torrid. I had ordered these ages ago, in an extra tall length and they were AMAZING! They are a trouser cut and hugged my curves in all the right places. I always get compliments when I wear those pants! Lol

But for whatever reason, they seemed to discontinue that style :(. I even sent Torrid an email asking them if they would bring it back in stock, and they suggested trying their new trouser cut jeans. So I decided to place an order with these pants since it was the perfect opportunity to try them. The look of them is very similar to the Roxanne`s but I have to say that these are not as great in terms of quality (the fabric is not as thick). They remind me of the originals, but it makes me wonder if they cut corners to maximize profits. But I will wear them, and see how well they last before I make final judgement. I did find it strange that the belt paired with the pants wasn`t long enough. If it is matched up with the pants, it should be long enough to wear but I will make good use of it as a skinny belt at the waist instead.

I didn`t really have a chance to look for myself in the store since I was busy helping my friend shop (she had never been to Torrid, and was looking to revamp her wardrobe). I was picking out more things for her than for myself. But after going through the store, I kept noticing this big sweater. I`ve been searching for a cute `blanket` cardi/sweater for a while, and this was exactly what I was looking for. Though it was a little expensive (around 75 dollars) it is very thick and will keep me warm this winter. I noticed after I brought it back to Canada that they forgot to take the security tag off (you can still see it in the photo) but I called the store and they assured me that it didn`t have any dye in it. So my dad helped me pry it off with some pliers and a screwdriver.

I`ve worn it a few times already, and I love it! Super happy with my purchases.
Stay tuned for my next post about the boots I bought as well :)
