Toronto Barber and Beauty Supply/Zellers Haul
First off, I will start off by saying this haul is overdue.
Half of this haul is from Zellers, which of course, no longer exists but is still wanted to share the great buys I purchased from there! I was able to visit a Zellers location a while back when they were on liquidation and was able to find a few steals in the make up aisle.
First, I noticed a display for the Snow White and the Huntsman nail polishes. I already reviewed a few of these polishes a long while back that I picked up at another Zellers location, and I was surprisingly impressed so I check out the display for some other shades. The display was mostly cleared out, but I did manage to find the last bottle of a shade called Queens Heart. The polishes remaining were on sale for 2 dollars, so it was too bad they didnt have many more options. I also took a look around but most of the aisles were cleared out. Most of the products left were damaged, but I did manage to find one of my favourite drugstore brands eyeliners Covergirls Liquidline Blast. It was on sale, and while it wasnt a huge discount from regular price, I knew it was something I would use, so I decided to pick it up. I was a little disappointed that I wasnt able to find more items during the liquidation, but the store was a huge mess.
Instead, I had some time, and I was close to one of my favourite places to buy polishes Toronto Barber and Beauty Supply. They have a few locations and I was close to one of them, and decided to stop by and see what I could find. They had quite a few China Glaze polishes on clearance ad I found a few that could be interesting for fall. I tend to wear darker colours in the fall time, but I like to amp ump the look with some glitter or shimmer. First colour I noticed was Lubu Heels obviously a shoutout to the famous Christian Louboutin shoes with the red soles. This colour is a black base with lots of red glitter. Ive heard lots about this colour on nail polish blogs and the like, so I was happy to pick it up for 4 bucks. I also found Cast a Spell which is from China Glazes 2012 Halloween collection. Its a dark base with green and yellow/gold glitter. Last, I found a colour from the 2011 Fall collection, called Midtown Magic- again a dark base with a bronze-y look. It has hints of a deep purple that didnt really come-up in the photographs but still a cool looking colour.
I dont know why I was leaning towards super dark colours that day (maybe I was feeling a bit depressed?) but I still really like the colours I grabbed. I feel like I will make good use of them this fall/winter.
