I grew up eating a lot of Vietnamese food and it takes a lot of work to make, so I hardly ever eat it. But I finally had time to make Com Tam (broken rice dish) which is my dad`s favorite! It`s broken rice, steamed egg cake, marinated grilled pork chop, chinese bbq pork/skin, fresh cucumber, fresh tomato and nuoc mam (fish sauce) on the side.
It`s a fairly healthy dish and I can eat it all day! I put a little sriracha on mine because i like spicy food. I gobbled this down in no time and was ready for seconds. You can make your own variation of it, but I don`t have an exact recipe for you guys. However, I do follow a Vietnamese blog so I`ll leave the link for their recipe here:
Have you had this before? what do you think? This dish is perfect for the summer days when we`re all grilling outside. I`ve also made this vegetarian so you can tweak things to make it your own! =]
