Tipsamptricks for Thick and Healthy Hair

I have very thick hair that tends to get heavy when i tie it up so i got layers and then my hair went wavy :S It used to be dead straight.

1. Don`t wash your hair too often. This will strip the hairs of it`s natural oils that keep your hair healthy. I only wash my hair every 3 days but i used to wash it once a week :| It might sound like a long time to not wash hair but my hair doesn`t get very greasy, just dandruff.

2. Less is more. I never use sophisticated products in my hair like repairing masks and such. I just use simple shampoo and conditioner. Masks and things might sound good but trust me, it`s just putting extra chemicals in your hair. Sometimes i use conditioner only on my ends but i prefer shampoo alone.

3. Heat!! Heat is bad for your hair!!! I always air dry my hair and don`t straighten, curl, colour etc. If you do, then always use heat protectant.

4. Natural masks work well if you need one. I use 1 part warm honey and 2 parts conditioner and leave it in my hair for around 40 minutes then wash off. It makes my hair super soft and my heating up honey, it won`t lighten your hair. Also, avoid homemade masks that contain olive oil or oil of anykind. Oil is a pain to get out of your hair. While it does make your hair soft, it turns it into a grease bomb! I had to shampoo twice and by the time i got it out, my hair wasn`t soft anymore :(

I also always have my hair tied up, never down and my fringe pinned back if i`m not going out. I also only brush my hair when im going out.
What is your hair routine?
