This is a cover that my friend Quinn and I recently recorded, it is a cover of the Mumford and Sons song Timshel, which we are huge fans of. The entire essence of Timshel is dreamy, somewhat somber, and extremely tight on harmonies, making this an exceptional piece. We both had a very fun time learning the piece and adding harmonies on Quinns Snowball microphone, an investment that was very much worth it in all aspects. The lyrics of Timshel paints a very realistic picture in the listeners mind, bringing many motifs of the cold, harsh winter into light. Some might say it possesses a darker side as well, such as the lyrics Death is at your doorstep, and it will steal your innocence, but it will not steal your substance. However, the tone of the piece becomes more positive in the lines You are not alone in this, you are not alone in this, as brothers we will stand, and well hold your hand, hold your hand, showing signs of reassurance to those in doubt.
