The Tibouchina is native to South America, but here in Australia it is very popular and in many gardens, we also have a similar one named the Melastome Affine. So I couldn`t actually be a hundred percent sure which one it is, but looks more like the Tibouchina!
Because they grow around our neighbour hood and in our garden my dad decided to pick some and put it in our dining room! The purple is so vibrant and eye popping! It really is breath taking!
It seems a little more brighter on camera, but not by a lot. These flowers don`t really have a scent either, which I like, i sometimes find some flowers to be too overpowering and such!
I think this will be in my house a lot! Or my room! They last for ages before they wither!
Have you ever seen or had these? Do you have any flowering trees in your garden?
