A friend of mine came back from college and she picked me up a few things from a thrift store near her university. We go thrifting together a lot, so she knows what I like and what I would actually wear.
The first is a brown blouse by New York Company. I don`t own anything brown, but there has been an outfit I have had in mind. I want to wear a brown blouse, with my black leather shorts, black tights, and suede platforms. It`s a sheer brown, so I`ll have to wear something underneath, but that`ll give me an opportunity to wear a bright color or maybe a embellished beaded/sequin corset. I absolutely love this brown blouse because it has really nice puffy sleeves, which always makes me think of the 1500s in England, the time of Henry VIII. I don`t know the styles of all the time periods that well, aside from the later ones, but I love reading historical fiction books, and on the covers the women always have these beautiful big dresses with puff sleeves, and I just wish I could dress like that, but in the 21st century, that would never happen, so this is the closest I can get (:
The next one is a pleated blouse, which I absolutely love! I have a similar one in a mint green. This one is a white, with very subtle gold detailing, and it`s little cherry blossoms. I plan on wearing this with my black leather shorts as well. I`ve been liking tops with a high neckline like this, I just think it looks more mature and sophisticated.
The brown blouse was $4, and the pleated white one was $3. So for the price of a sandwich, I got too beautiful blouses! Thanks to my friend (:
<strong>Do you own any brown tops? What do you think of brown, do you think it`s a difficult color to pair?
