Three NYE Party Looks: Polished Matte, Bold Metallic and Glam Glitter

Hello lovely Luuuxers!

Today I wanted to bring you a mega-big post to mark the end of the year! Tomorrow is New Year`s Eve, and I am SO ready to bring in 2015!! I can tell this is going to be a great year, and I definitely want to start it off on a beautiful note!

If any of you are going to a New Years Eve party tomorrow night, or even if you aren`t, I wanted to bring you some inspiration to look super glamorous! Keep reading if you want to know how I did these three looks: matte, metallic, and glittery!

Be sure to scroll through the pictures above to get more detailed images of the looks I`m about to describe!

To do this look, I mainly used one palette: the It! Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Celebration Palette. It is a palette with all matte shadows and I absolutely love it! First, I primed my eyes using the NARS Pro Prime Eyeshadow Base, and then beginning in the outside corner, I layered three shades. With a fluffy blending brush, I swept Peace into the crease and outer corner. With a smaller fluffy brush, I placed Wonderland into the outer corner using circular motions, and then to smoke out the look, I placed Coal, a matte black, into the very outermost corner using a pencil brush. I went back with Wonderland and blended it on the lower lash line using a small liner brush. Finally, I lined my eyes with a dark brown eyeliner and added highlight in my inner corner and underneath the brow using the shade Snow Angel!

I love looks that only use one palette, and this palette is so versatile if you love matte shades. It is highly recommended!

Metallic eyelids are SO trendy right now, and I love this sort of tarnished-metal appearance I was able to achieve with this second look!

I first primed the lid using Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin, a primer with a shiny metallic finish. Then, I layered on the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Moonlight, which is a taupe metallic eyeshadow pencil, all over the lid. I then darkened up the outer corner using MAC Twinks eyeshadow, which is a beautiful warm shimmery dark brown, using a fluffy brush. To add even MORE metal to the look, I topped off the lids using Urban Decay Sidecar from the Naked palette. Simple black eyeliner and mascara finished off this look!

The pictures for this look don`t even do it justice--it had a super reflective, almost wet look on the eyes in real life. It was so pretty!

I saved the most glam for last! As many of you may have seen in my previous Fashion post, my New Years Eve dress has sequins from top to bottom. So, I definitely want to put on the glitz when it comes to my makeup too! I want to incorporate glitter somehow, and I think I am going to try to re-create this third look for my party.

The most important ingredient in this look is the special primer I used, which was the Sephora Collection Glitterguard Primer. It helps to keep the glitter adhered to the lid and not falling all over your cheeks!

To begin, I primed my eyes with the MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre, and then I did the darker outer half first. I again used the It! Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Celebration palette to create the bold, smokey effect on the outer portion of the lid, using the shades Peace and Hot Cocoa in the outer corner and the shade Champagne to blend them both together into the crease.

Once my crease and outer corner were done, I placed some of the Glitterguard to the inner half of my lid, and then using my finger, I applied the Physician`s Formula Eye Enhancing Extreme Shimmer Gel Cream in the medium shade of the trio to the inner 2/3rds of the lid. Then, on top of it, I used a dampened shader brush to apply the MAC Glitter in Gold (from the Heirloom Mix pigment collection) all over the same part of the lid for some extra sparkle. Under the eye, I used a pencil brush to smudge the shade Toasty, and then tight lined with the Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Perversion. I then lined the upper lashes with a dramatic wing using the Kat Von D Tattoo Liquid Liner in Trooper and applied some NYX false lashes. Finally, I highlighted in the inner corner and under the brow using my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle!

Sorry, I know that was a lot of steps, but trust me when I say that the steps are worth it! You can, of course, replace these products with things that are similar! (I know that not everyone out there is a makeup hoarder like myself and has a ton of different products at their disposal!)

If you are looking for a quick and cheap way to add glamour to your NYE look, the one product that I HIGHLY recommend is the Physician`s Formula Extreme Shimmer Gel Cream trio in Nude or Smokey! These are a new product that are just now hitting CVS stores and they are IN-FREAKING-CREDIBLE! I cannot believe how pigmented and metallic they are! Run, don`t walk, to your nearest CVS and pick these up while they are 40% off this week! :)

Will any of you be trying these makeup looks for NYE? Let me know in the comments below! :)
