Today I saw the movie This is 40. This a comedy movie directed by Judd Apatow that stars Leslie Mann, Paul Rudd, Megan Fox, Charlyne Yi, Jason Segel and Melissa McCarthy, and this is supposed to be a sequel of the movie Knocked Up.
Debbie and Pete are a married couple with 2 children. Debbie is turning 40 and, one week later, so is Pete but Debbie is really angry she is turning 40.
Pete owns a record label but he has been struggling with his business financially, mostly because Pete is always giving money to his father, who himself has 3 small children.
After Debbies birthday and once she talked to her friends she decides her life and Petes life needs to improve. So, Debbie says that the all family needs to be healthier and she also decides to reconnect with her father whom she hasnt seen in 7 years.
Honestly, this movie was a bit disappointing to me. I thought it would be more of a comedy than a drama but I was wrong. Some parts of the movie were really funny, like Megan Foxs and Charlyne Yis characters and especially one scene with Melissa McCarthy that was absolutely hilarious but, besides that, the movie was disappointing. There were a lot of parts in the movie where literally nothing happened and I thought the movie was way too long.
I thought it was really cute that the 2 characters that play Leslies children are actually Leslie and Judd Apatows children.
This movie has a rating of 6,2 in IMDb and I give it a 6 out of 10 (6/10).
