TheBalm Meet Matt(e) Palette - Review and Swatches

Hello Beautifuls, I`ve had this palette for quite some time now and it is time to do a review. I purchased it from Hautelook a couple months ago. I can`t remember how much I paid anymore, lol, but it was around $20.00. The retail price is $34.50. It is currently now on sale again at Hautelook for $17.00 so get it while you still can. Packaging The palette is sleek and small. It measures 3 1/4 x 3 1/2. It is made of sturdy cardboard paper and has a magnetic closure. You get 9 different shades. The size of the pans are fairly small and the same size as the ones on their Nude`tude palette. There is a mirror and a double sided brush included. I wouldn`t use to apply eyeshadows but I think it works great as an eyeliner. Net weight is .33 oz or 9.5 g. Colors I find it rather cute that they are all named Matt. I think the color range is good. You get a mix of neutral and colors. The colors are rather cool toned and muted, which is nice for every day wear but you could also use the darker shade to create a smokier look without looking overdone. Matt Smith - pale cool toned nude Matt Gallagher - light cool toned beige Matt Ramirez - dark cool toned brown Matt McDonald - dark grey. This is more like semi-matte. There is a hint of shimmers in it but they are very fine and not really noticeable once you wear it. Matt Horowitz - dark cool toned denim blue, semi-matte, and has the same formulation as Matt McDonald. Matt Chung - matte cool toned pale pink. It`s very light it almost looks white. Matt Batali - matte dark brown with a slight purple undertone to it. Matt Schilling - matte teal Matt Patel - light matte taupe Formula These shadows have a very good pigmentation. They have a velvety smooth feel that I find very similar to Inglot matte shadows They are a bit powdery so you`ll have to pat them on and not swipe them on, otherwise it`ll look muddy and chalky. Conclusion I think this is a nice palette overall. Matte eyeshadows can be a bit tricky to apply but I didn`t find these difficult to work with since they had good pigmentation but are not over the top. I do recommend using a primer with these shadows since they are a bit powdery. I like using matte shadows on the crease as they give more depth and definition to your eyes but when used all over lids I find them much easier to wear than shimmery shadows since they look more tame. If you are looking for a range of good matte eyeshadows to add to your arsenal. I say this is a nice palette to pick up. For a makeup look I did with this palette, you can view it /viz/makeup-look---matte-teal-amp-blue-with-thebalm-meet-matte-palette. I have yet to post a natural look with it. My rating 9.5/10. **Pictures and contents are mine. Do not use without permission**
