Okay so I know that the majority of you listen to the chart music ie, Justin Bieber, One Direction hence the name "chart music" but bear with me. More recently I have noticed that young artist have been becoming more and more common. Not only has there been an increase in quantity but also an increase in popularity. Of course I am only able to speak on behalf of the British population between the age of 13-21 but I am almost certain this trend is spreading throughout the globe. I can only assume that people are becoming sick of the constant repetition in the current music which seems to follow the same words throughout each song and the misuse of words such as "swag" and "ho*s". In the new up and coming artists they seem to have completely hypnotic lyrics and and overwhelming tune compared to that of the Hip-Hop or Dance tracks in the top 40. Also I have noticed in the new, young artists they are continuing on the extremely bold music from the 60s and 70s. Take Jake Bugg (you may or may not have heard of) for example, he has been compared to the likes of Bob Dylan or Donovan. And many new bands are continuing the old British invasion style of music. I certainly hope that we see more of this quality of music in the future and less of this raving non-sense.
