The lipstick is Hard Candy`s Painted Lady Lipstick in 200 Fire Alarm. Don`t worry, you`re not the only one that was dumbfounded by the name of this lipstick. When I think of a fire alarm, I usually think of the color red. But now I think of the perfect shade of nude for my cool pale skin tone, thanks to Hard Candy. And it`s from the drugstore! If you have a fair skin tone, like me, you know it`s next to impossible to find a nude lipstick that actually compliments your skin tone. Most nude lipsticks from the drugstore either have orange or brown undertones to them which is just not flattering for cool, pale skin tones. Even higher end make-up brands nude lipsticks, such as MAC, contain orange and brown undertones. BUT I finally found the perfect shade for ONLY $6.00 at Walmart! This is the perfect nude lipstick because it contains a pink undertone to it, just like our skin, which is why it is so flattering.
The texture of this lipstick is also feels amazing on my lips because it is so creamy. The pro to it`s creaminess is it does not dry out my lips, but with any nude lipstick, it will show and exaggerate any chapped areas.
The con to it`s creaminess is the fact that it`s staying power isn`t very long, but it`s potential can be increased with a sticky lip gloss.
I, personally, find the packaging to be cute. The only complaints I have are if you don`t make sure the lipstick is all the way down you can nick it with the lid easily; and the nozzle to the twist of the lipstick can sometimes get stuck and/or it just doesn`t twist smoothly. But What do you expect for the cheap price of $6.00? These minor imperfections are not stopping me from loving this lipstick though.
Creamy texture, feel, and look
Cheap, affordable price
I rate this lipstick overall a 4.8/5.0.
