Some time ago, me and a group of friends decided to go on some kind of journey to discover a beautiful place called "Mina dos Carris", or Mine Raid, that is located in Gerês, Portugal.
Gerês is a well known Portuguese mountain range, with some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country. We can find a lot of different kind of animals and plants... Beautiful scenarios created by the nature. In the middle of that mountain range, there is a mountain with an abandoned village that was built a long time ago. It was the village of a group of miners that worked on a set of mines.
You have to walk something like 6 hours on a natural rail, in the middle of the forest to get there. It is a long and hard walk but when you get to the top, it truly pays all the effort. Besides an awesome ghost village (photos 3, 4 and 5), we get to see some kind of little dam that was used to concentrate water to supply the village, that is a beautiful thing to see (photos 1 and 2). Besides that, all the rail that you have to walk to get there is full of beautiful scenarios that are like some kind of prizes that you keep winning along the way (like you can see on the other photos).
It is one of the most beautiful places that I`ve ever visited and if you ever get the chance to visit this place or some other place similar to this one, just do it.
