Inspired by the novels of Suzanne Collins, "The Hunger Games presents the adventures of a 16-year-old teenager, Katniss Everdeen, who replaces her younger sister, Primrose, in a competition broadcasted live on tv, entitled `Hunger Games`, in which 24 children, aged between 12 and 18 years, are forced to fight against each other to the death, only one of them emerging victorious and returning home alive.

The "Hunger Games" are not only an entertainment program, but also an intimidation tactic of the Panem State Government, in order to punish the 12 districts that made a coalition and rebelled, by forcing them to annually register for the competition one boy and one girl from each district. Primrose Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are selected from District 12.

Once she volunteers instead of her sister Primrose, Katniss learns that she mustnt take into account love and humanity if she wants to survive this competition, and that she should rely on her hunters instincts and take into consideration her mentors piece of advice.

The Hunger Games is a great movie that emphasizes some very strong themes of life. Personally, I loved this movie because it shows an excellent storyline placed in a society with large discrepancies. The idea of this movie is complex... and its amazing how the director emiphasisez the high class society, especially through the eccentric fashion.

The Hunger Games is a movie that simply must not be missed. An excellent movie that shows a real picture of human society and which highlights the struggle for survival.
