The Fellowship Of The Rings was directed by Peter Jackson and it was based on the first volume of J. R. R. Tolkien`s The Lord of the Rings. This is an epic fantasy film set in a mythical England, Middle-earth, which is populated by humans and other intelligent species: elves, wizards, dwarves and creatures called hobbits, which are very similar to humans, but shorter.
We learn that long ago, an evil magician called Sauron forged a Ring that had the power to control the whole world, a ring which also conferred invisibility on those who wore it. Sauron lost IT and as a result became powerless for many eons. The Ring has somehow found its way to the young hobbit Frodo Baggins, played by (Elijah Wood) and so Sauron starts Searching for its new owner.
Frodo Baggins is chosen to cast the Ring into the fiery furnace of Mount Doom, located in the centre of Sauron;s evil kingdom. He is accompanied for much of the way by eight companions from different species, and togheter they form the Fellowship of the Ring. And so begins their journey to Mount Doom in the land of Mordor, the only place where the Ring can be destroyed. They encounter fearsome dangers, but at time they have extraordinary magical experiences.
I know this film along with the other 2 that followed were a major box office success not only in USA, but worldwide too, but I just want to say that besides the special effects that created a very realistic world, this movie, this trilogy, gives us a lesson: friendship is a essential in ones life, in times of despair, true friends will offer hope. Real friendship is vital throughout life.
