I`ve just finished the second installment in the Hangman`s Daughter Series. If you haven`t read the books you can check out my review and opinion of the first book The Hangman`s Daughter /viz/what-am-i-reading-bzzagent. I received this book through BzzAgent they sent the first book The Hangman`s Daughter and this one The Dark Monk virtually to my Kindle. Anyway`s on to this book. The Dark Monk by Oliver Potzsch The story continues on with Magdelena`s romance with the doctor Simon Fronsweiser, but things don`t go over smoothly after one of the local Priests die from a poisoning and his sister Benidikta shows up. Simon is smitten with her strong personality and take no prisoners attitude, though still in love with Magdelena he has to convince her. The three along with the Hangman set out on a journey to find out why the priest was murdered. It turns out there is a hidden Templar treasure somewhere in the Priests corner of Bavaria and they all want to get their hands on it. Of course not everything is what it seems and perhaps treasure is like beauty it is all in the eye of the beholder. To find out more about the story you`ll just have to read the book. Now for my opinion of the writing style. I have the same problem with this book that i had with the first one, it seemed like the first half dragged on to long. There was a lot of detail but not a lot of action. The action didn`t really pick up until i hit about the 60% mark which i found frustrating. I spent a good month reading this book and it`s only 512 pages long. With that in mind read at your own discretion, i won`t recommend or disregard reading this book because i know some of you out there would really enjoy. If you decide to give this book a read I hope you enjoy it :) There are two more books in the series coming out soon but i can say i won`t be reading them.
