A little while ago, I received a few goodies from a giveaway I`d won from Pang, one of which was this little pack of The Balm lip glosses. I`ve never tried anything from this brand, so I was really excited. The colors look really pretty in the tube!
The swatches from left to right are: Swift, Lickety Split, Speedy, Chop Chop, Supersonic.
I like that these glosses have the sponge tip applicator, which makes application smooth and easy. These are supposedly called tinted lip glosses, but I don`t find anything "tinted" about them. With the exception of Swift, which is a clear gloss with beautiful gold shimmers, all the colors are greatly pigmented. The least pigmented on my lips was Chop Chop, and the most pigmented was Supersonic, which is my favorite! It looks, feels, and applies just like lipstick. All have great consistency, and aren`t sticky at all. They`re so SMOOTH on the lips! The wear on these glosses aren`t all that great. I think it was within an hour and a half that I noticed the gloss fading as I did things like eat and drink.
Again, I apologize for not taking adequate lip swatches. My camera isn`t working right, and I had to resort to using my phone for the time being. I managed to take that last picture real quick. That`s Supersonic on my lips.
They all apply pretty much the same way, though, with the same smooth consistency and pigmentation. I didn`t find these glosses hydrating, but they weren`t drying either.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoy the beautiful colors. I think Swift is super unique, and Supersonic is my all time favorite now out of all the glosses I own. However, again with the exception of Swift, I think the colors can be somewhat easily duped, and the formulation and consistency of these glosses aren`t anything special. I`m so grateful for winning the giveaway, and getting a chance to try these, but a set like this usually retails for at least $25, and they`re just not special enough for me to justify going out and purchasing these or the like for that price on lip glosses in the future. Maybe it`s just because of the brand, but I don`t think they`re worth that much.
Let me know what you think about this. Do you own lip glosses or any other product from The Balm?
Thanks for reading!
