My husband and I are to host our first Thanksgiving party this Thursday. I am not going to lie, I am quite nervous of the outcome but have been having fun planning it.
The party will be for my husband`s side of the family. Due to the fact that it will be our first time hosting Thanksgiving, I wanted it to be somewhat special so I decided to start with the invitations. Everyone in my family knows that I have a crafty side, not sure who I get it from since both of my parents have no patience for DIYS but I have had a passion for it ever since a very young age.
Rather than the typical invites, I decided to use oversized coffee mugs and fill them with all kinds of goodies such as chocolates, hot cocoa, tea etc. I gave one to each of the families and couples who will be attending.
Something similar to this can cost you over $10 but I purchased the large mugs from the 99 cents only store and added tea and hot chocolate packets from my own pantry.
I also included little cute cut outs of Fall leaves and Thanksgiving symbols. And used cellophane and god ribbon to bring it all together.
Once I wrapped them up I used Alphabet stickers to spell out their name or last name on the front of the mug. I thought this gave it a more personal touch.
Have you ever made invitations out of something non traditional?
