I went to a newly opened Thai restaurant yesterday and I received a free appetizer dish to try it. The dish is called Kuay Tiew Lui Suan in Thai a.k.a Thai Salad Rolls. The roll consisted of rice paper, minced pork, basil, carrot, mint leaves, shitake mushroom and a dipping sauce. The sauce was made of fish sauce, lime juice, assorted herbs (I couldn`t tell) and chili. The sauce was amazingly delicious. It was a great combination of spicy, sour and salty. It was not too spicy for me. Overall, it was a great dish (I removed minced pork from the roll, so I couldn`t tell how good the pork was). I wish the restaurant had it in shrimp because I don`t like pork.
Have you ever tried Thai salad rolls? Do you enjoy it?
